Cross the border between Argentina and Chile to reach the youngest and remotest town in Chilean Patagonia: Candelario Mansilla. And stress not, with our eBikes you won't even notice the uphill parts and the wind won't slow you down

Our eBikes give you the freedom to ride anywhere from quiet paths to challenging trails, making this route a real adventure. Now known as Huella de los Glaciares, this route crosses one of the most wonderful and remote parts of the border between Lago del Desierto (Argentina) and Lago O'Higgins (Chile). Starting in Candelario Mansilla, beside Lago O'Higgins in Chile, you can reach Lago del Desierto in Argentina, with parts of the journey surrounded by rivers and meandering streams, striking glaciers, beautiful forests, places that have marked the history of the region, and with the towering Monte Chaltén (also known as Monte Fitz Roy) overhead. This is where your Surí eBike adventure begins.

Enjoy wonderful views of Lago O'Higgins and the southern ice field.

An epic 21km ride.

A class 3 (intermediate) route with a few streams to cross and a steep, class 4 incline - everything you need for a great trip. Be careful of your surroundings and look out for your fellow travellers.

Km 0 (252m. SNM) - eBike

This is where the route starts (there is no road traffic here) in the direction of the border with Argentina – it’s a gravel path.

Km 0,9 - Carabineros de Chile

This section starts with uphill parts and views of Lago O’Higgins and the mountain range that surrounds the southern ice field. It is a gravel, car-free track. Don’t worry! With our bikes you won’t event notice the slope.

Km 5,6 (600m. SNM)

Here the track flattens out. On a good day you can see the beautiful Monte Fitz Roy (3,405m).

Km 10,8 (626m. SNM)

At this point, you will cross a bridge before arriving at the aerodrome serving the area. Always follow the busiest route that is well sign posted.

Km 8,45 (522. SNM)

You will cross a huge estuary. Be careful when wading across. Never submerge the eBikes or they will stop working.

Km 14,9 (603m. SNM)

The border between Chile and Argentina. The track ends here. The last 7km will take you into the heart of a forest, where you will face challenges with lots of narrow paths, the roots of trees, streams to wade across and trunk paths to navigate. A real adventure. Perhaps you will find a few short sections with deep mud and bridges that can only be crossed with the bike on your shoulder.

Km. 15,7 (693m. SNM)

Here you will go around a huge lake (the west side).

Km. 16,7 (711m. SNM) - Trekking

You will reach the highest point of the route and start the last section to Lago del Desierto. In this final section, the descent is quite steep, with excellent views of Monte Fitz Roy, Monte Torre and the surrounding glaciers.

Km. 21 (507m. SNM)

You will arrive at Punta Norte de Lago del Desierto where the Argentinian Gendarmería (border control) is located. This is the end of the route.
